Absolute Beginners (1986)

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

The film that was supposed to bring musicals back into fashion. Actually Absolute Beginners turned into a megaflop - hardly surprising given that Patsy Kensit was one of the leads.

Memorable only for the theme song and, if I'm not making this up, David Bowie dancing on top of a giant typewriter.

Yeah, it was pretty dreadful- it was supposed to be about young love in the 1950s, but with more modern music. If it's one thing I can't stand, it's period drama that uses a soundtrack that's out of keeping with the time.
