This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Rock group from the 70s . Their most famous song was "Free Bird". Great talent they had!!

Sadly they all died in an airplane crash.

    Joe Mc is a little confused....all the band members were not killed in the plane crash. Another guy wrote that remaining band members had performed their final time a few years back. Again this is not true. The remaining band members are still making music as the Rossington Collins Band. I seem to recall recently hearing about a new Skynard CD that was about to be released so possibly the remaining members have gone back to there original name. Does anyone else have any info on this?

    Not quite all of them died in the plance crash, at least one of the brothers survived and there was a reunion tour in which around 1 million people saw the final performances by the band. At the last of these, the father of the brothers introduced the final song,(guess what, it was Freebird!) explaining that the vocals was by the brother who died and so he asked the crown to sing it. I have a recording of this and the memory of 150,000 fanatical and emotional Alabamans(?) singing freebird gives me goosebumps. If you ever find a recording listen to it, it's the best. Sorry for rambling
