Horace goes skiing

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Brilliant 2-in-1 game for the ZX Spectrum. The idea was to steer Horace down a downhill skiing course through the marker flags without crashing into them. But then when you get to the bottom of the hill the game then becomes like Frogger where Horace has to try to cross a busy road to get to the ski lift to take him back up the hill I think.

My memories are of Horace the Horror... I couldn't get a cross the (literally) bloody road. This game should have been Horace goes to Hospital... In an ambulance which looks like a lego block. On the rare occassion that I made it to the slope the adrenaline would invariably drive me wildly into the nearest tree. A Horace my friend... I miss you not.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaah, Horace Goes Skiing. The best of the amazing Horace series. Acclaimed for the superb mix of a 2D slalom ski run and the excellent Frogger cloning. I think it is one of the ZX Spectum's golden games, along side others like Chuckie Egg, Manic Miner and, of course, that Horace pac-man clone, Hungry Horace.

Get Horace across the road, collect his ski's, get him back across the road, then go skiing! My dad, mum, sister and i spent hours playing this game and the longer you left it to cross the road the faster the traffic would move! Actually think i only went skiing a few times in the whole time of having the game - my childhood.

I was absolutely terrible at this game, and could never get Horace across the road, but it was well worth it once I managed it as getting him down the ski slope was so cool!

This was the first ever game i played on a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K - it was a sunny day, and the red arrows had been doing a display flight around the village i was at for the day, when they went, i played on the new computer they had - the zx spectrum! if only i had known where computers would take me!
