Farmer Browns Crisps

Nobody else I know can remember Farmer Browns Crisps. They were available around 1983 and the advert had a song that went "Farmer Brown, you got a crunchy snack there with lots of savoury shapes like me and you!"

The crisps were potato puffs shaped like pigs, cows, sheep and people.

Farmer Browns should go down in history as being the best crisps ever. I loved them.

Yes I remember these the crisps were were of quite a thin crispy substance or was that Piglet crisps? the Song went "Farmer Brown you've got a munch snack ther.. OOH ARR, there's lots on munch snacks for me and you" then a little banjo tune after, people I ask never remember it either, I don't think they were on the market for a long time that might be why

Spelling mistake, it was Mr George Quinn, he was originally from Laurelvale, Portadown and was involved with Tayto at the start but he left to start up Taste-Rite foods which went under the name of Farmer Brown crisps. The prawn cocktail was my favourite. The factory was in Shaerf Drive, Lurgan, Co. Armagh.

LOL, pig shaped, that is brilliant. I worked for Farmer Brown crisps for 14 yrs and it was going well until George Qinn the owner died of a heart attack. Unfortunately after that it run down badly because mainly from bad management and because of an economic down turn at that time. The main frying pan needed replaced and the company did not have the money to replace it. The firm never actually went bust George son, Paul, closed the doors one Friday and never opened them again. It was sad because if George would have been alive , Farmer Brown Crisps would still on the shelves. They made an assortment of crisps but there biggest sellers at the end were Loops, Frites, Barbeque Curls and Cheese Curls.
