The Clangers were a bunch of pink creatures who lived on the moon. They looked kind of like knitted mice, and they spoke using voices akin to swanee whistles.
There was also a Soup Dragon who they had to feed, and although the Clangers themselves never ACTUALLY spoke, I'm sure you could tell exactly what they were saying.
