- Biarritz Drink
I was a student and then working in London at the time. There was a massive advertising campaign for Biarritz. Every tube station seemed to have a huge poster headlining their slogan "Biarritz the Unusual". I never tried the drink, perhaps because it was one of those alcopops that appealed primarily to young women rather than to real ale-swilling young men like me. On the other hand, I wonder how many people would have wanted to try the drink based on a slogan like that! Perhaps the slogan was why the drink did not last the distance.
