Started as a Saturday lad in 1980 at the Stoke depot, then full time van lad, then driver. George Hunter was depot manager, Brian Harrison was supervisor. Some of the names in can remember after all these years, Alan and John Harrison, Brian Campbell, Dave Craig, Steve Ball, Tony Jenkinson, Dave Cresswell and Fitz. Hard work, happy days and the meagre pay even managed to buy me my 1st Ford Capri. I remember cycling home with an enormous xmas turkey in my bag when the strap broke and it bounced down the middle of the road before getting squished under the wheels of the local bus.
