Vosene

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

In the 70s Vosene contained one of my favourite toiletry ingredients (I was a big reader in the bath). It was Sulphosuccinated Undecylenic Monoalkylolamide. It's probably been renamed now, or removed altogether because it was found to cause blindness in beagles or something.

There is a Vosene ad from the early 80s in this commercial break. You'll find it at 2.55 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eze051DchU Does the tune used in it sound at all familiar to anyone?

Does anyone remember any of the TV ads for this stuff? The earliest one I seem to have a vague recollection of from childhood was one which said it was 'good for mums'. Someone on another website said they remembered it and it was run for years. It showed a boy having his hair washed in the bath.

LOL! This stuff was potent! Should have come with a hazard warning. For sure, it was certainly great at stripping any oils or build up you had in your hair - guranteed it would be 'clean', if nothing else.

My husband used to wash his hair with Vosene in the 1970's - said it was the only shampoo that got rid of his dandruff. I hated the smell of the stuff.

Bloody Vosene with its green bottle and triangular white twist cap. My parents went through shed loads of it, unfortunately it was the only thing I could use. And yeh I too used to read the label.
