Tom Grattan's war

British TV series made by Yorkshire TV in late 60's - early 70's. A Lovely story about the adventures of a teenage boy (16 year old), who is sent to his relatives in the Yorkshire Countryside during World War I as he was too young to help fight. The story tells of his childhood antics working on a farm helping to produce the nation's food production. The farm was situated next to a prisoner of war camp where many Germans were held captive.

Set against lovely scenery. I always remember title and rushing home from school to watch "Tom Grattan's War"

Ahhhh memories eh !!!

I just got this on DVD and am loving it after 52 years. I only remember it being shown on a Sunday, so it must have been between Oct.and November ‘68. I remember seeing the opening of the 1st series, but Having watched those episodes now, nothing has triggered my memories in any of the stories. I only remember liking it. The stories are great. It’s a pity they don’t put it back on tv. Surely there’s nothing the deceitful, PC hysteria crowd could object to?
