The Morecambe and Wise Show

The Morecambe and Wise show was truly great comedy from two of the best British comedians of all time - Ernie Wise and Eric Morecambe.

The Morecambe and Wise Show started in the late sixties and continued in to the eighties with Ernie playing the straight guy and Eric playing the fool and misbehaving.

Amongst the sketches and dialogues there were some great running jokes throughout the series such as Ernie's hair ("...you can't see the join...") and the regular mickey-taking of Des O'Connor who guested on the show.

But the best comedy of all was saved for the Christmas specials which have become a kind of British national tradition to watch every Christmas. It doesn't matter how many times you see Eric playing the piano with Andrew Preview (Andre Previn) or watch Angela Rippon's dance, the show remains immortally funny.
