The Golden Shot

The Golden Shot was a fmaily game-show originally produced in 1967 but which ran through the seventies with an assortment of hosts. Bob Monkhouse was the final and perhaps most memorable host but other hosts included Norman Vaughan, Charlie Williams and Jackie Rae amongst others.

The best part of the Golden Shot was the lovely Anne Aston giving the scores and "Bernie the Bolt" loading the crossbow. Later Anne was replaced by an attractive oriental lady called Wei Wei Wong.

Bob Monkhouse was the SECOND host, Jackie Rae was the first and Charlie Williams was the last. I think it actually started on Saturday nights, when Jackie Rae did it.

I loved this show. The presenters when I watched it were Charlie Williams and Bob Monkhouse. I'm not sure this would get past Health & Safety these days!

Can't forget wonderful Annie adding the scores up on her fingers. Those sets must have cost a bit though.
