Toys TOYS

The Eggs

There were some toys called the 'Eggs' and I remember the song from the advert that started like this "We're the eggs, the jolly good eggs, there's six of us all told. I'm the mechanic & I'm the nurse & I'm the fireman bold" My brother can remember it also but I have never found anyone else who does. Did we dream it? A block about The Good Eggs by Ted Menten, (good eggs designer) http://sashastreet.blogspot.ie/2010/09/teds-toys-good-eggs.html

I think I had these toys too. I seem to remember a blue one possibly a policeman.

No Suz, you didn't dream it- they were actually called 'The Good Eggs', and were sort of action figures (if thats the right word) about 10 inches tall. Basically they were anthropomorphised eggs, with faces, arms & legs- in addition to mechanic, nurse and fireman, there was also a farmer egg, plus two others I can't remember. Even at the time, when I was about 10, I can remember thinking that The Good Eggs were something of a marketing scam- pay £8.99 or somesuch for a plastic oval (which was probably a re-used industral by-product or offcut anyway), with arms & legs added that weren't even fully poseable! Not really worth the money and somewhat pointless, though they'd probably fetch a bit on eBay nowadays.

i don't know if this is the same thing, but i had a stuffed bunny that had ears that would zip up around him to form an easter egg?
