The Buggles

At midnight on August 1, 1981 a small cable tv channel began altering the world of music forever. MTV first broadcast The Buggles prophetic "Video killed the Radio Star" and jump started their "music revolution" with 5 "VJ's" and 24 hours a day of music programming.

While the Buggles, from Great Britain never really did much after that, they will always occupy this intensely lofty claim to fame. The video was everything New Wave would ultimately stand for: quirky, fun and above all, excedingly danceable.

The Buggles was actually Trevor Horn who went on to produce many hits in the 80s including ABC and Dollar.
