The Bluebells

'Young at Heart' ... what a fabulous song which lent itself to an advert for my all time favourite car the VW Golf. I had a battered old blue Golf, (which I loved), a few years post-Bluebells, which I used to race around town, electric tinted windows down booming out 'Young At Heart' for all to hear... oh fun days! I was sad enough to join the The Bluebells fan club and still have, (somewhere!), signed photos from all the band members.

The Bluebells were a scottish band of the 80s who didn't take themselves too seriously. They were a breath of fresh air at the time when sulking new romantics and those obsessed with 'electric' music seemed desperate to depress us all!

There was a poster promoting one of their songs showing them all riding in a fairground bumper car- can't remember which one it was though.
