After attempts to make a skateboard out of a single roller skate and plank of wood I was lucky enough to get a 'real' skateboard in the late seventies called "Super Slalom Flyer'.
It had a red thin moulded plastic body and red wheels. I had to switch the rubbers from black to red as it was hard to steer but it trundled along nicely for me. All the kids in the street spent that Christmas and long afterward going up and down and round and round. I'm sure it was much healthier than computer games! (There was only 'pong' after all!)
