I'm sure that the Simon Park Orchestra had a far-ranging repetoire - but what they were most famous for was 'Eye Level', the theme to the 70s TV Detective series Van Der Valk. As my mum was a great fan of Van Der Valk in the 70s, this theme could be heard with great regularity in our house. As she was also a tremendous fan of Matt Monro, we got to hear the vocal version too... Such fun when you're about 5 years old!
