Shimmers were dolls around the same size as Sea-Wees and made by the same company, Kenner, in 1986. Unlike your standard Barbie doll or Rainbow Brite, though, Shimmers were palm-sized pieces of mythological perfection...

They were plastic figures which had a doll's head and a mermaid's body, a deer's body, a butterfly, bird or horse's one - hence the centaur-like mythology behind them. There were 20 Shimmers in total, all released during 1986 only, and they came packed as a mother, a baby, an accessory and a comb.
