Scraps

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Scraps came in all shapes and sizes - there were cherub angels and ones with glitter, girls, boys, Victorian ones, etc. You would swap them with each other or have doublers and you kept them in the pages of books.

Whatever happened to scraps?? They were very cheap for your parents to buy if you'd been good, they were available almost anywhere, a book (which could be anything even a dictionary) was enough for a girl to keep them in and she spent hours and hours swapping scraps with friends. A simple matter of giving each other the book they had and you looked at your friends scraps while they looked at yours and if you wanted to swap you simply raised it to the top of the page. Everyone I've spoken to remember scraps with great fondness. Whatever happened to this dirt cheap and extremely popular girls pastime?? (they kept kids quiet for ages and now we've grandchildren something like this would be a godsend lol)
