Paper Lace

1974 was definitely the year for Paper Lace chart-wise. After winning Opportunity Knocks they hit the number one spot with the Murray-Callander written "Billy Don't Be A Hero". This was followed by US number one (UK number three) "The Night Chicago Died". Sadly, apart from a brief return as backing group to Nottingham Forest FC in 1978, that was that.
