Mighty Imps

One of the strongest tastes you might ever taste! Unforgettable - if you can't remember them you quite simply weren't there!

They were tiny (very tiny) black squares of strong licorice, with a menthol kick that could lose your taste buds for a few days. These were sold in a tiny silver tin with black writing on and a picture of an Imp. Or latterly in a small black flip-top plastic container. Like tic tacs in a way, but not in taste!

Also, like blackjacks they would turn your tongue black!

I hated those, they used to taste dirty somehow, and not sweet at all.

Ah! I remember those! They must have been the world's smallest sweet. A proper strong flavour, they must not have been for kids but my mum used to give us 5p a week in the mid 70s and I used to buy those, or aniseed balls and sweet peanuts
