American singer / songwriter Matthew was born in New York in 1953 and was most famous for his hit single 'Break My Stride' which was released in 1983.
Matthew didn't have a greatly successful music career, despite being backing singer for Rickie Leed Jones and Bette Midler. He later went on to produce for the likes of 'Christina Aguilera', 'Kelly Clarkson', 'Miley Cyrus / Hannah Montana' and 'No Doubt' and has worked on the soundtrack for the hit movie 'Mulan'.
