I remember her most from her role in Bergerac, where she played Phillipa Vale, the ice maiden. As the appearances went on she became less icy, at least with Bergerac. I always wonder if they grew old together - the unlikely pairing of the jewel thief and the copper. Whatever, it was a strange relationship with always the undercurrent of 'will they won't they', which they did of course during a treasure hunt xmas special.
In real life, Liza made an early TV appearance in Australia's Skippy The Bush Kangaroo. Her adult career in TV kicked off in the UK when she appeared in Take Three Girls in 1969. She also had a supporting role in the 1972 movie Ooh, You Are Awful and a leading role as April in The Brothers, which also featured her first husband, Colin Baker of Doctor Who fame. For many years, she was also the female team leader on long-running quiz show Give Us A Clue, replacing Una Stubbs in the role. Years after her first stint in Bergerac, Liza was reunited with her Bergerac co-star John Nettles in an episode of Midsomer Murders.
After splitting up from Colin Baker, Liza went on to marry yet another star of the 70s - musician Alvin Stardust - although this also failed - not because of any romantic involvement with Bergerac, we hasten to add!
