The name 'Jimmy The Hoover' was the brainwave of Malcolm McLaren. 'Jimmy The Hoover' became a one hit wonder after being dropped by their label when their follow up single failed to achieve the same success as "Tantalise", which reached the Top 20.

    I remember that he looked like a real idiot when he appeared on Top Of The Pops, with a Jimmy Saville hairstyle!

    Here in Australia it was unknown but I heard it once in a club and tracked a copy down in a rarities shop after weeks of looking - it was the only copy they had. It was stolen during a party. I woke with it in my head this morning. So MacLaren was involved? Love it - 20 years later.
