Jetpack

Jetpack was a computer game for the ZX Spectrum by Ultimate Software (which later became famous as RARE) where you had to guide a spaceman round an alien planet picking up pieces of his spaceship and assembling them. Sounds pretty simple until you throw in a few scary looking aliens that don't like spacemen. I remember playing this a lot when I was home from school one day whilst I was ill. I also remember watching Never Say Never Again on the telly that day. Mmmmm - sick days were great back then!

I remember Jetpac on the speccy. It was made by Ultimate (Play The Game), the follow up was LunarJetMan.Jetpac came out at the same time as their other classic games, Tranzam, Psst and my personal fave AticAtac (which did have an ending!!!!!) After that they brought out SabreWulf, KnightLore, Alien8 etc...they then changed their name to RARE, and are still making games for the Xbox360.

Did it actually have an end to the game. I thought that Spectrum games just carried on until the user fell asleep or your tea was ready! How many ships did you have to build?
