Cars CARS

Ford Corsair.

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Introduced as a replacement for the Classic. Styled with a very pointy nose (not sure how it would fare in pedestrian-impact tests nowadays!), it was one of the first Fords to feature the V4 engine used in the Transit and Mk IV Zephyr 4.

The Corsair ran from 1963 to 1970, being replaced with the Cortina Mk3. It first used the 1.5 Kent engine that powered the more expensive Cortina Mk1 models and was intended to bridge the gap between that and the larger Zephyr/Zodiac.

One of the very few Fords that I've ever really wanted to own- I believe that production finished in '69, the year I was born, so there were quite a lot of them around throughout my childhood. It was the chisel-nose that appealed to me. I have a model Corsair sitting on my book case next to me right now as I'm typing this!
