Fab 208

Fab 208 was the official magazine of Radio Luxembourg (so called because the broadcast on 208m) and was prominent in the 60's & 70's.

It contained lots of information about the stations DJ's and had loads of pin-ups of the Osmonds (who were legends of that time) and other popular artists. This Magazine was popular due to Radio Luxembourg being one of the first radio stations to play pop music. The show ran from 1933 - 1992 and was huge in the British Isles due to its programmes and content.

I won a competition (along with 9 others) on Saturday Scene, to meet the then popular group 'Kenny' way back in 1975. The prize was to meet Kenny plus Sally James and Supersonic Mike (shows producer) on a Disco boat trip on the Thames, I was allowed to bring a friend and a chaperone which was my older sister. It was a great night with lots of photo calls The following week as well as photos ftom the event being shown on Saturday Scene they also appeared in Fab 208 complete with an article, one of my fav. mags. at the time. I kept that copy for years, but eventually lost it. If anyone out there has a copy from (I think) Dec 1975, would love to see it again!

In the late 70s - early 80s I filled in a questionnaire from FAB 208, with personal details, likes and dislikes, so it would be sent to America and matched up with another one, from a reader of their TEEN USA magazine. Then I received a readers questionnaire and another reader received mine. We all began to write to one another and are still in contact, even though it's through Facebook now, 36 years later and we still haven't met up yet!
