Coronation Street

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

If you don't remember Coronations Street you must have some kind of amnesia. Coronation Street is the grandmother of all soaps. It is set in Manchester and has been running since the 1960's and is still going strong today.

Who could forget Hilda Ogden who always wore her hair in rollers?

An everlasting classic show.

I recently bought a selection of Corrie dvds from the 60s and 70s. They are magnificent, especially the ones from the 60s. You really care about the characters because they have normal human problems, not like today’s sensationalist storylines. Great acting too.

In the early days when it was only on once or twice a week they were like good quality short plays with great characters and realistic storylines. I wouldn't bother watching it now if they performed it live in my front room.

The sound of corra down the streets at 730 when you were playing out! When you heard it for the last time mean't bath time! only in summer time though when windows were open.

The credits at the end meant bedtime to me. KSome kids today are outside terrorising the neighbourhood!
