Chelsea Whoppers

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Chelsea Whoppers were a kind of chocolate sweet or, as was common in the 1970's, 'chocolate flavoured' (like Wagon Wheels). They came in a bandolier of around 10 at a time and I think they cost 1p each. They tasted like dirt and melted away to nothing very quickly in your mouth!

My local sweetie shop makes them by hand and sells them out the original 70s box. :) Also around here when I was a kid we had the chelsea whopper clown urban legend, scared the bejesus out of everyone under 10!

Yummy brown sticks of loveliness, kinda soggy and coated in cocoa powder, very delicious!
