Chance In A Million

Chance in a Million was TV series starring Brenda Blethyn and Simon Callow as the unluckiest couple in history. Tom Chance was a man who experienced the most unlikely conicidences on a regular basis to hilarious comic effect.

The only detail I can remember from the series is that Tom was so well known to the police that he never got arrested, even though he appeared guilty, since the police knew he would always be shown to be innocent in due course.

Absolutely brilliant show . To my knowledge never been repeated, god knows why. The one that really stands out for me was one of their relatives were going abroad and due to whatever situation , they left with a metal cut out of a revolver in a book in their luggage. One of my dads favorites.

I absolutely loved this series. It was brilliantly acted by two of our greatest talents. Simon Callow was hysterical. I loved the way he spoke, and Brenda Blethyn was so long-suffering. If only we could see some re-runs!

We remember Tom always talking as if he was writing a diary i.e. "Went to shops...bought some milk" and downing a pint "in one" in every episode!!
