Breakdancing

I could only do a backspin - quite impressive it was too - but unfortunately could never do a Windmill, which was always the most impressive move. I remember doing the Caterpillar a couple of times but starting it off by going into a Swan Dive first. Damn, my bones ache just thinking about it. I don't think these old legs could take that any more!

My sis had a breakdance box set (2 x vinyl) that I used to play loads. Me and my mate spent a ton of hours trying to breakdance in my folks front room. I think I got as far as the Caterpillar (obligatory swan dive) and a semi windmill. Oh and that crab thing whereby only one hand went down on the floor. Preferred body popping and robotics

I was surrounded by it (I guess it was the intro to hip-hop) growing up, and I would try to imitate the moves, but it probably didn't even remotely resemble break-dancing.

I couldn't do any of the floor moves but I could flow and lock-n-pop and after several weeks, I mastered the moonwalk! I loved it. It was about the only cool thing I could do in junior high besides run real fast from the bullies.
