Bob Dylan

One of the most influential singers and songwriters of his time Bob Dylan has had an immeasurable impact on the world of popular music.

From an early age Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman) learned to play guitar and harmonica and formed his first rock and roll band at high school in Minneapolis. He started performing folk songs in coffee bars as Bob Dylan taking his last name from the poet Dylan Thomas.

In 1962 his first album was released simply entitled "Bob Dylan". The album only featured two original songs but over the years Dylan went on to write a huge number of original songs.

Bob Dylan's lyrics were often winding, introspective and poetic displaying great depth and creativity and won him worldwide acclaim.

Little can be said to do justice to the creative genius of Bob Dylan - the only way to understand is to listen to his music.
