They are now being revamped and represented. Books are being published in both Italy and France and the cartoons are being shown on Nickelodeon in both countries... I am going to buy the DVD as it was my fav cartoon when I was growing up...

I have an original Barba Papa stuffed toy. He's really old! I can't really remember much about the programme though.

They were a family of Mr.Blobby-shaped characters and the first line of the sig tune went : "Here is the story of the Barbapapa...". Used to be on at 5.55 ( kids programmes over here ran from 5- 6 pm in the 70s ) .

I can't find another person that remembers this show. I live in Canada and I used to watch it on PBS. I actually found a few comic books of the Barba family at a second hand store. Now if only i could remember all their names,,,Barbapoppa, Barbamomma, Barbabeau, hmmmm...Barbabelle? I better dig out the comics and see!

clickety-click... barba-trick! I just loved this show when I was a kid. The best storyline was the first one, I believe... when Barbapapa was all alone in the world. He had all kinds of adventures looking across the world for someone else like him. I remember being locked out of the house accidentaly one day and thinking: "If Barbapapa was here, he could barba-trick into a key and let me in!"

I remember watching it as a child and having ba ba papa balloons at my birthday party. The best way to decribe him was a big pink ballon shaped blob with a face! I think he may have been french?
