ADVERTS

Trio Advert

"# TRIIII-O, TRIIIII-IIIII-O"

Some strange little cartoon girl with an enormous mouth belted out this advert, trying to get us to buy strangely chemical-tasting "toffee" flavour chocolate Trio biscuits.

Hmmmmm.

The song was a version of 'The Banana Boat song' possibly by Harry Belafonte a 60's west indian singer. there was also a stop go animation film made of a rabbit who used to say the singer was too peircie for his ears - thus the idea for the trio advert

I don't know if YouTube is a good thing or a bad thing when it comes to enjoying memories. Just search for 'Trio Advert'. It's on there.

    Annoying advert and rotten biscuit
  • Anonymous on 2007-01-05 14:30:57
I think the song was sung in a jamaican accent. Looking back I think it may have been a little bit racist. Quality

On the subject of biscuit ads, does anyone remember the one for "Breakaway"? It was something like "if I eat my sisters Breakaway, she'll burst my new balloon" (Balloon Pops). "Well, once you've seen one ballon, you've seen them all!"

The girl's name was Susie. The advert went something along the lines of "Susie's too loud. So, we've put her in a soundproof box", said the hippie like man and his little sidekick banging the bongo drums.

CAN YOU STILL BUY TRIO'S ANYWHERE?
  • Anonymous on 2005-03-27 21:04:09

  • Anonymous on 2005-02-07 19:09:15
I remember this as if it were still on TV! I thought I was the only one who remembered this! No-one who I know remembers it. Why did they stop selling it anyway when KitKat is still going strong?!
