The Wonder Years

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

This programme was about a young lad, Kevin, growing up. Each episode included some rite of passage on his way to becoming an adult involving himself, his best friend Paul and his some-time girlfriend, Winnie. The show was "narrated" by an older Kevin.

A classic TV show with memorable characters. Who can forget Kevin with his big puppy-eyes; Paul with his thick, black-framed glasses; Winnie with her long brown hair and white go-go boots; Wayne and his horrible taunting giggle; Norma and her shiny platinum hair; and Jack's moroseness at the dinner table? It was everyday, white middle-class American suburbia in the 60s with more than a little sentimentality and romanticism woven into the narratives and plot lines.

This is like one of my favorite shows. Always find myself laughing with the glee recital episode.
