The Persuaders

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Tony Curtis and Roger Moore star in this glitzy crime thriller comedy. Together they were The Perusaders and their aim was to solve the crimes the police couldn't handle.

'The Persuaders!' was never intended to be taken seriously. Complaints about 'wooden acting' and 'ridiculous scripts' are therefore meaningless. It was great escapist entertainment, and the girls, among them Joan Collins and Imogen Hassall, were red-hot!

I must echo johnz's comments. Two of the most stilted performance you'll ever be likely to see on a screen. Probably be fine as a comedy show now.

The most fantastic theme tune, the most wooden acting by both Brett sinclair AKA Roger Moor and Danny AKA Tony Curtis and the most ridulous scripts made this.Pure adventure tosh for the under 12s if you loved this as a child don't watch it again, just get the soundtrack.

I loved this show too, we used to pretend to be the main characters at playtime! They were Lord Brett Sinclair and Danny Wilde, i was always glued to the tv whenever that wonderful theme-tune started.

I am honoured to be the first to write about this. I love everything about this kitsch piece of TV history. First the theme tune by my favourite John Barry and then the playboy characters, whose names escape me, played by Roger Moore and Tony Curtis. Any show that gives credits to 'wardrobe by Debenhams' has to be a winner!
