The Lost Islands

The Lost Islands was a television series about a group of teenagers, with a token younger child of about 6 years old, who get blown off course to the Lost Islands. The inhabitants of these islands appear to be stuck in the 1900's... however all is not as it seems. The teenagers regularly need to outwit the islanders in the struggle to escape. I could reveal more if it hadn't been for the amateurish attempts at scheduling by Border TV in the early to mid 1970's. Ho hum...

I remember The Lost Islands having a catchy theme tune. Sunday mornings was always The Lost Islands and another one about "The Yellow House". Maybe I got older or had better things to do but both seemed to stop suddenly.

The Lost Islands was always a bit of an odd television series, perhaps because it promised so much and delivered very little. From the days of only three terrestrial TV channels, scheduling of this program was so hit and miss that I never did see what eventually happened to this series. It was, as I recall as a child of only 7, rather odd.
