Terrahawks

Terrahawks was Jerry Anderson's last puppet series in the 80's and sadly neglected by most people, which is a shame because with an exeption of one ore two childish elements it is basically as good as Captain Scarlet or Stingray.

The series started with a rarther misleading and serious 2 part pilot episode showing the destruction of the Mars base by the evil android Zelda's fleet, introducing the vehicles and setting the scene for the rest of the series.

The next two episodes were really well thought out and dramatic and from there on it was cherry fun. Undoubtedly the two best things about the show are the ships and the Zeroids. The ships like in any Anderson show are cool and the Zeroids are cute, funny and probably some of the best robots on the small screen.

I remember watching Terrahawks every saturday, Zelda was the scariest thing ever! Saturday TV was ace, reruns of The Dukes of Hazzard, wrestling with Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks, The A-Team, Tripods - no wonder mothers used to cook :-)

Terrahawks was really cool because Windsor Davies' voice for one of the round balls things was great!
