Supergran

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Granny Smith turns in to Supergran to fight the evil Scunner Cambell in this scottish kids TV show.

The storylines were always about Supergran fighting crime in Chisleton (Supergran's home town) and in most episodes a guest star appeared. Notable guests included Burt Kwouk, Geoff Capes, Gary Glitter and Paul Shane (Hi-De-Hi).

It was a weekday afternoon thing on Children's ITV, though may well have been on Sundays as well. "Mr Majeika", by the same screenwriter Jenny McDade, occupied both slots. Watch an episode on ITV Player (the one shown during the CITV anniversary weekend): https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/supergran It still seems to be there at time of posting. Great fun.

My memories are vivid about supergran as my brother played Willard Dagliesh Keegan Smith, super grans grandson in series one. We watched it everyweek without fail. We moved to Australia in 1987 and have just recently managed to get copies of the show on video, it is really exciting to see them again. It is funny watching Iam(not Ian) when he was young. He also sports an Australian accent now unfortunately has lost the Gordie.
