Spectra Dolls

Spectra Dolls were meant to cash in on the sucess of Jem dolls, but Spectra and her friends never really caught on.

They were smaller than Jem with pretty faces but their bodies were... metallic! One was bright shiney gold, right up to her head, and their hair was brightly coloured too.

Spectra Dolls had strange 'futuristic' fashions too but I think it was really just the fact that their bodies were no recogniseable skin colour that stopped the kids from getting too attached to these. Too spooky!

I had two Spectra dolls--the pink one and the violet one (which may tell you something about their popularity in my mind: I can't remember their names). Their jointed plastic limbs broke easily and put me off, but the lacy costumes fit just right on my Barbies. I think I played with the dresses long after the broken Spectra dolls were discarded.

Okay, I had Spectra, and I currently have pink hair, 20 some thing years after the fact. They did break easily but I LOVED Spectra! I ADORED her, she was one of my fav dolls. I really wanted her boyfriend and her friends but my mom just did not like the dolls at all!

I had two of these! They broke easily. I had Spectra, the pink doll. They were weird, and to this day I still like crazy colored hair. I always gave her another outfit though. I hated the ballerina dress! What was THAT all about?
