Sons and Daughters

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

This soap was like the Australian version of Eastenders. The story was based around one big extended family and everyone was everyone else's brother, sister or mother! Some of the actors still pop up in Home and Away and other Australian programmes now.

I would literally run from the school bus stop every Wed, Thurs and Fri for this classic show (Mon and Tues was "Young Doctors"). Patricia aka Alison was the best. The others, particularly Gordon and his dodgy ticker, were sooo naive. Gordon would always see Wayne for what he was (a great but flawed villain, always outmanoevered by Pat) and banish him from Wumbai, only to take him back. Only Beryl had her sussed, but she got taken for a ride every now and again as well. The plotlines were so intricate that viewing was compulsory. If you missed a show you'd be back to square one, unless one of your school colleagues kindly filled you in with the missing plotline the next day. Very sadly missed. Oh, and what a theme tune!!!

SaD was nothing like EastEnders!! What a strange comparison... And how could you not mention one of the most classic TV bitches of all time, Patricia Hamilton/Morrell/Palmer/Dunn aka Alison Carr??
