The Six Million Dollar Man was a television series about an astronaut named Steve Austin (Lee Majors) who was badly injured during a flight experiment. The US Government rebuilt him ("We can rebuild him...We have the technology") into the "Bionic Man" (there was also a subsequent spin-off series called "The Bionic Woman"). Steve Austin would go around and use his bionic abilities to help people and stop crimes.

    had the bionic man action figure, loved this program, one of my earliest memories...

    my fav show of the 70's, loved it; used to re-enact the episode the next day with a girl across the street ,who played Jamie Summers to my Steve Austin.

    This was my fav tv programme, at the time. Steve Austin was fab. I can remember running 'in slow motion' and perfecting my 'bionic eye' squint. I even had a Six Million Dollar Man T-shirt that I bought through the Look-in comic. Terrific stuff.
