Reversible Jumpers

The premise of a reversible jumper is simple, the reality more disappointing. Firstly it wasn't a jumper, instead a strange padded sweatshirt, hot, uncomfortable and unflattering, like wearing a sleeping bag. Usually these would be printed with cartoon characters, large design on the outside and repeated smaller pattern on the inside (visible on exaggeratedly turned up sleeves). I refer to 'inside' and 'outside' as the second flaw in that no one ever reversed a reversible jumper, this would instantly single you out as weird, as if owning the thing wasn't enough.

I had a few of these. The one I remember most had some sort of snow scene on it, I also had a Mickey Mouse one.

I remember these being the big thing when I was about 10. Mine was blue on the outside and had a hideous cutsey dog on the front. Behold, on the inside a million smaller images of the mutt were presented again in 'printed outline' form (red on white in my case). It's true that I never wore mine inside out, but I always rolled the sleeves up to hint at the horors lurking beneath. Loved it at the time though. Thought I was the bees knees.
