Monkgomery

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Monkgomery was a talking monkey. He was on sale in the late 80's around the same time as Bingo Bear. If I remember correctly - he was made by the same manufacturers. He had velcro on his hands so you could drape him around your neck.

I had this monkey as a child, it was my favourite teddy & it went everywhere with me. I used to put his arms around my neck & carry him around. He had an American accent & I remember one of his many lines was 'Do you wan' a good laugh?'. O I loved him!! I still have him in my attic, may just get him down & see if he still works.....

I don't actually know Monkgomery, but my room mate brought it home for his girlfriend for Valentine's day. Unfortunatly he got it used (obviously, since it's a toy from 86!) but this thing looks so new I'd swear he got it right off the shelves at a toy store... no "attic" smell, no stains tie still intact, both eyes, the whole thing! But his voicebox was all corroded. I'm going to keep searching for one because his girlfriend wants to know what Monkgomery sounded like. He's a really cute toy and his paws are heavy and make loud sounds. She enjoys it anyway, but it would be great if she got the full working package.
