Bands and musicians BANDS

Jethro Tull

Jethro Tull! A blast from the past! Wild-eyed, shaggy-haired Ian Anderson standing on one leg playing 'Rock flute'. Martin Lacelot Barre with his smoking jacket, pillbox hat and monacle on guitar, and a fine assortment of other musicians over the years.

"Broadsword and the Beast" is a classicrock / synthesiser soundtrack from the eighties. "Aqualung", "Thick as a Brick", "Heavy Horses"... I could go on and on.

These guys always put on a cracking live performance.

I never met Ian, but my no good late brother in law worked for him. My sister could never get her head round the fact that his name was Ian not Jethro, silly so & so.Not that she had any idea of their music, she is some what older than myself and is more into Cliff Richard. Her eldest son however was into them, and called his son Jethro.

Ahhhh! Jethro Tull, one of my favourites. I remember a song called Blackpool on one of his albums. In spite of his wild-eyed appearance I thought he had a gentle voice and I could understand every word he sang-Happy memories
