The Harlem Globetrotters was a cartoon from the early 70s. It was about a basketball team from New York (hence Harlem) who were also crimefighters.

There is an actual basketball team called the Harlem Globetrotters, who were set up in the 50s. The actual team appeared on TV in the 70s and were quite amusing, as they were very good at basketball tricks and also used to pick spectators from the audience, and play tricks on them and get them involved in roleplay.

    Used to love the tv cartoon but then saw them twice live at Wembley - probably '76 and '77 - Meadowlark Lemon, Curly Neale & Co - passing the ball and doing tricks to Sweet Georgia Brown - great stuff!
