Golden Cup

This was a chocolate bar made by Nestle Rowntrees, around in the 70s/80s. It consisted of milk chocolate segments filled with a rich liquid caramel. It was like a grown-up, luxury version of Cadburys Caramel - my Mum used to have one as a special treat (they were pricier than your average bar). The wrapper was, I think, white with an illustration of the yummy goods themselves.

I remember Golden Cup. I use to buy a finger bar in a foil wrapper. If it was available today it wouldnt taste the same. None of them do.

As a child and as a young adult, I loved Golden Cup. I still hanker for one now and again; the chocolate and caramel combination was a taste sensation!

Golden Cup was actually made by a company called MacKintosh! I haven't been able to find one of these for a few years now...far superior to a Dairy Milk Caramel....

They tasted so good, they had a smaller version as mentioned above, pricey but so good, was reminiscing to my old man about them the other day

Yeah these were delicious and always a bit more expensive than other choccie bars but the creamy choc & caramel were such a lovely combo.Even Cadburys can,t compete with their Caramel bar.
