Girl's World

I still have my Girl's World, boxed from the 80s. It came in a stripy box and you could practice making hairstyles and putting make up on the model. It came with shampoo, conditioner, pink rollers, a brush and comb and the make up consisted of blue and green eyeshadow, blusher and lipstick. The model also had a chocker necklace.

I used to do some great hairstyles and the model had a tressle which meant you could have either long or short hair. Sad thing is after all that practice I never made it as a hairdresser!

I had a dark haired Girl's World. I was also into Adam & the Ants, so one day I got a black marker pen and put a thick black stripe across her nose, just like Adam Ant - except it was a permanent marker and later I couldn't get the mark off - I put it back in the box and returned it back to the top of the wardrobe, never to be played with again - mum would've killed me! My mate Lee had a Girls World that HE shared with HIS sister. They played Love Alot Beauty Parlour and HE did the make up while she did the hair! He's 37 now, and won't like that i've told this story AGAIN!!! d:-)

I had a Girls World, she had lovely thick blonde hair, the make up was realistic too. The ones available now aren't half as good as they originals, the hair is terrible and the make-up is poor. Re-makes are never as good as the originals.

I had the blond one, that came with special pens for colouring her hair, and would wash out afterwards, but it was such a pain to wash and dry the hair that I only used the pens once.

I had a girls world that I used to play with loads. I found some of the lipsticks annoying as you couldn't tell any difference in her lip colour once it was applied!
