Fighting Fantasy Books

Fighting Fantasy Books were Dungeons and Dragons type books created by Ian Livingston and Steve Jackson. You would get to a choice in the book and move to that page (also using dice to fight creatures). Of course, most of us cheated a little and kept our finger in the previous 2 pages just in case that path led us to our death or a loss of inventory. Magic! They made loads of them and they even spawned many copies. I got my first 3 as a box-set in the school book club!

They were very similar in essence to the Choose Your Own Adventure books.

Both Ian Livingston and Steve Jackson are now in Australia. I think they had a falling out as they both started to bring out books in their own styles. They have been licensing Fighting Fantasy to TinMan games which makes apps on Android and Apple. To keep up with the times they have been doing a good job to digitise them and make them playable on your tablet or phone.

I've got the Citadel of Chaos, and The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. I'm ashamed to say that I never finished either because I was inclined to cheat! (must get them out and have another go...)
