Family Ties was a sitcom about two former 1960s parents, Steven and Elyse Keaton raising children in the 1980s.
The kids' views clashed with their parents' views. Alex (Michael J Fox) was smart, always wore a suit and tie and loved money. Mallory loved clothes, boys and talking on the phone. Jennifer was the youngest and a tomboy, until later on when baby Andy came along.
Skippy who lived next door was in love with Mallory who didn't feel the same way about him. Despite being considered clumpsy Skippy was very sweet, and was Alex's bestfriend.
