D J Travanti wasn't really known in the UK for anything other than being the straightlaced Chief of the Hill Street precinct, made famous in Hill Street Blues. His performace can be considered reasonably good however he never really got the juicy scenes as opposed to the other characters like Belker or Renko. However he did have the opportunity to share a bath with the actress Veronica Hamel on several occassions. I suppose it's a dirty job and someones got to do it!
